Allāhumma innī qad wahabtu nafsī wa ‘irḍī lak.

Context

We relate from the book of Ibn as-Sunnī that Anas Honorific symbol reported that the Messenger of Allah Honorific symbol asked: “Are any of you unable to be like Abū Ḍamḍam?” They asked: “Who is Abū Ḍamḍam, Messenger of Allah?” He replied: “He used to say in the morning: ‘O Allah, I have given myself and my honour to You.’ So he did not curse those who cursed him; he did not wrong those who wronged him; and he did not beat those who beat him.” [41].
