Chapter 51
Remembrance 34 from Chapter 51
What to say in the morning and the evening
Arabic
Romanisation
Allāhumma innī as’aluka ‘ilman nāfi‘ā, wa rizqan ṭayyibā, wa ‘amalan mutaqqabalā.
Context
And we relate from the Sunan of Ibn Mājah, as well as from the book of Ibn as-Sunnī from Umm Salamah
, who narrated that the Messenger of Allah
said in the morning: “O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good sustenance, and good deeds that are acceptable [to You].” [37].
References
[37] Ibn Mājah (925) and Ibn as-Sunnī from the client (mawlā) of Umm Salamah. In az-Zawā ’ id it is mentioned that all the narrators of the chain are trustworthy except for the mawlā of Umm Salamah, who did not hear the hadith herself. I have not seen anyone who has written regarding unknown narrators mention him, so his trustworthiness is not known.
