What to say when looking for omens
Arabic

Romanisation
Allāhumma lā ya’tī bi-l-ḥasanāti illā Ant, wa lā yadhhabu bi-s-sayyi’āti illā Ant. Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā bi-llāh.
Context
We relate in the book of Ibn as-Sunnī that ‘Urwah ibn ‘Āmir al-Juhanī
narrated that the Prophet
was asked about omens, and said: “The most truthful of it is a good omen, and it does not repel a Muslim. So if you see any of these omens that you dislike, say: O Allah, none brings about good but You, and none takes away evil but You. There is no power and no strength but by Allah.” [2].
