The prohibition of a son, student or pupil calling his father, teacher or mentor by name
Context
WE RELATE IN the book of Ibn as-Sunnī that Abū Hurayrah
narrated that the Messenger of Allah
saw a man with a boy. He asked the boy: “Who is this?” He replied: “My father.” He said: “Do not walk in front of him, do not cause him to curse you, [1].do not sit before him, and do not call him by his name.” [2].
