Remembrance 1 from Chapter 61

WE RELATE FROM the Sunan of Abū Dāwūd, with a good isnād, from Abū Hurayrah who related that the Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever sits in a place where Allah is not remembered will have loss and decrease from Allah, and whoever lies down without remembering Allah will have loss and decrease from Allah.” ^[1].The word tirah, with kasrah on the letter tā and fatḥah over the letter rā’, means loss (naqṣ) or consequence (tabī‘ah).
