Context

WE RELATE FROM Ibn as-Sunnī from ‘Alī Honorific symbol, who reported that the Messenger of Allah Honorific symbol said: “‘Alī, should I not teach you the words which you should say when you are in a fix?” He said: “Yes, may Allah make me your ransom.” He said: “If you are in a fix, say: In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. There is no power or strength except by Allah, the High, the Tremendous. With this Allah will turn away any tribulation He wishes.” [1].I say ‘plight’ (al-warṭah) with a fatḥah on the wāw and a sukūn on the rā’ means to ‘destruction’ (al-halāk).
