Encouragement for the imam to praise those who have displayed skill in battle
Context
WE RELATE FROM the Ṣaḥīḥs of al-Bukhārī and Muslim that Salamah ibn al-Akwa‘ narrated a long hadith about the disbelievers who attacked the pasture of Madīnah and took the she-camels. Salamah and Abū Qatādah went after them. He recounted the rest of the hadith before stating that the Messenger of Allah
said: “Our best horseman today was Abū Qatādah and our best foot soldier was Salamah.” [1].
