IT IS MUSTAḤABB to say: “Our Lord, You have not created (all) this in vain. Glory be to You, so spare us from the chastisement of Hell-Fire. . .” [1].up to the end of the āyāt [that follow].
Rabbanā mā khalaqta hādhā bāṭilā. Subḥānaka fa-qīnā ‘adhāba-n-Nār. . .
[This is] because of the hadith narrated by ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Abbās
in the two Ṣaḥīḥs: that when the Messenger of Allah
got up in the night and looked at the sky he said [the above], which has already been explained. But Allah k
nows best.
